Events in Cheltenham during 1997.

Cheltenham & Gloucestershire - some general links.

Cheltenham and Gloucester College of Higher Education - a useful site.

Cheltenham College - an independent school for boys and girls. I consider myself fortunate to be a former pupil of this fine school. My unofficial Old Cheltonians page is here.

Cheltenham Cricket Festival - played at Cheltenham College ground since 1872, the oldest cricket festival in the country.

Cheltenham's 53rd International Festival of Music, July 1997

Cheltenham's history - from Saxon times.

Cheltenham Ladies College - the distinctive green uniforms have earned the nickname 'greenfly'.

Cheltenham Spa - a good, informative site run by Andy Hope. He has kindly provided a link to my unofficial Old Cheltonians page on his Links page. He also has a news page.

Cheltenham Spa Web - is the official site run by the Cheltenham Borough Council.

GCHQ is based in Cheltenham, and is one of the town's biggest employers. Although their work is quite secret in the national interest, they do have a home page here.

The UK head office of Spirax Sarco is in Cheltenham. AFAIK the Cheltenham head office was co-founded in 1937 by my great uncle, the late Lionel George Northcroft, in a fine old former rectory called Charlton House. My father, Allan Dey Ruxton. worked there for 23 years. During that time among other work he helped to start the Japan office, now a separate company.

This England is based in Cheltenham.

Highlife - Cheltenham's unofficial online guide - is here.

Cheltenham's Victorian architecture - the town is perhaps better known for its Regency terraces though.

Cheltenham Teddies College - let bears flourish ! But I think the site is actually run from Brighton... and they seem to want real money rather than the toy kind...?
